2016 CHARDONNAY

Tasting notes

Appearance:Daybright, pale lemon yellow with moderate plus viscosity.

Aroma:Medium intensity with lemon and yellow apple fruit, lemon grass with vanilla and subtle clove barrel notes.

Palate: Full bodied with ripe lemon, mandarin, golden delicious apple fruit on entry with yellow apple skin, toasted bread and barrel spice toward the mid palate. The finish is crisp and textured with sustained fruit, subtle lemon thyme notes with toasted oak and barrel spice elements. The 2016 JUSTIN Chardonnay is fresh and textured with ripe complex fruit and a touch of toasty oak, without the usual buttery elements found in most California Chardonnays. Pair it with grilled shrimp marinated in lemon and white wine with a little garlic and thyme, or as a refreshing aperitif before a midsummer night’s meal. A couple of years in the cellar will increase the complexity and fullness of this wine as the toasty oak elements further integrate with the fruit flavors and aromas and the palate broadens.
