Elegantly crafted in the JUSTIN style
About the Wine
The JUSTIN Chardonnay has a clean, crisp, and textured palate with round, ripe citrus, apple and pear fruit, toasted oak, and an attractive mineral texture. Near full-bodied, elegant, and balanced, it is a very sophisticated style of Chardonnay with complex fruit. It’s drinking beautifully right now, but don’t be afraid to try it in a year or two when it will show added complexity and richness.
Bright straw colored with silver highlights and slow forming tears.
Aromatic with notes of lemon peel, crushed citrus leaf, and wet stone.
On the entry, notes of ripe Meyer lemon, fresh-picked Cortland apple, and slight lemon pith lead the way. Richness builds in the midpalate balanced by bright acidity that maintains freshness. On the moderately long finish, baked golden apple notes combine with an intriguing suggestion of lemon verbena and fresh chamomile, which are accented by chalky minerality.
Whole-cluster pressed, barrel fermented with M2 yeast
Barrel aged for six months in 20% new French oak barrels
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRINGS
The 2022 JUSTIN Chardonnay is full but fresh on the palate with a mix of ripe fruit and savory notes, making it a natural pairing with full and rich dishes like Tarte Flambé, a savory tart with flaky dough, caramelized onions, creamy cheese, and diced ham, or poached lobster.
