About the Wine

JUSTIN’s history with Chardonnay is long-standing and storied, as the chardonnay fruit was among the first grape varieties planted on our original estate in Paso Robles in 1981. Embark on a sensory journey with the 2023 Chardonnay from the esteemed Russian River Valley. This limited-production Reserve Chardonnay, crafted with the finest grapes, draws on the legacy rooted at our Paso Robles estate while simultaneously adding a new angle to the variety. The result? A luscious, full-bodied Chardonnay that delights the palate with delicate notes of ripe apple and Anjou pear. With a long and dry finish, this is a wine that is as rich as it is vibrant.

Appearance

Yellow with golden reflections and moderate tears that form persistently on the glass.

Aroma

Bold on the nose with baked apple, nectarine, and caramelized pineapple leading to floral notes of honeysuckle and chamomile with wet stone, almond and vanilla.

Palate

Dry and full-bodied with spiced pear, golden delicious apple and ripe apricot on entry followed by marzipan, fresh cream, and sustained fruit on the mid-palette. The finish is long with notes of roasted chestnut, almond, vanilla, caramel, and toast all held together by fresh acidity and an underlying minerality, reminiscent of river stone.
